This is a slightly radioactive source that can be used as an operations checker for Geiger counters, a teaching tool or an engaging conversation piece!

Sample activity can range 500-8000 CPM (Beta Gamma reading). All measurements are done using a GQ GMC-300E Plus Geiger counter. The measurements were taken in direct contact with the ore, precisely targeting the point with the highest readings. When examining the rock with the Geiger counter, it's essential to slowly rotate the sample and test each side. You may observe significant variations in radiation levels, with one side displaying higher readings while the other sides may show lower levels. Readings may vary depending on Geiger counter used.

We are in compliance with Section 13 from part 40 of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission rules and regulations and Postal Service regulations specified in 49 CFR 173.421 for activity limits of low level radioactive materials. The item is shipped in accordance with Postal Service activity limits specified in Publication 52. This item is not deemed hazardous and follows all laws and standards set into place by the United States. This sample may be disposed of in regular waste providing all radiation symbols have been removed.

Uranium ore samples may consist of several mineral types, including Carnotite (bright yellow), Uranophane (canary yellow), Uraninite (jet black), Pitchblende (glossy black), Gummite (rust brown), and Tyuyamunite (green to yellow).
